Instructions

How to Make the Well

  1. Cut Poster Board Base

Cut 1-inch x 4-inch piece of plastic poster board and glue ends together to make a circle that is 2 inches in diameter.

  2. Glue Stones

Hot glue the stones to the sides of the circle. When selecting stones, look for large, flat-sided stones for a sturdy base level. Let dry.

  3. Grout Stones

Mix grout and apply to the sides of the stones with a palette knife to fill the spaces between the stones. Let dry for 20 minutes and then wipe away extra grout with damp sponge to reveal surface of stones. Let dry completely.

  4. Create Posts

Cut two 4-inch pieces of sticks that are ¼-inch thick to make the posts for the well. Glue the sticks on the inside of the well.

  5. Create Roof

Cut a pile of thin twigs into 1¼-inch pieces. Hot glue the twigs onto two of the rectangular pieces of wood to make the roof of the well. Then glue the two rectangular pieces together to make a "V" shape. Glue the roof to the top of the posts.

  6. Make Crossbar

Cut small branches to make a handle and glue to one of the posts. Cut a twig to fit between the two posts to make the crossbar.

How to Make the Basket

  1. Create Basket Base

Tape five dowels together. Mark ⅝-inch segments with a pencil and then cut them. Cut two 1-inch dowel pieces and one 1⅛-inch dowel piece. Glue one 1-inch piece to the side of the mini wooden flower pot. Then glue the other one on the opposite side. Fill in the rest of the sides of the flower pot with the ⅝-inch dowel pieces.

  2. Create Handle

Glue the 1⅛-inch piece to the two taller pieces to make the handle of the bucket. Hold in place until the glue sets.

  3. Add Cord

Wrap desired length of cord around the ends of handle and post and secure with hot glue. Tie cord around the bucket and secure with a dot of hot glue.
